Gallery Photos: “Signs of the Times” Testify to Life
For many persons, the phrase “signs of the times” (Matthew 16:5) conjures up visions of impending judgment, of “terrors and great signs from heaven” (Matthew 16:11). However, His Place played a role in two events promoting more positive “signs of the times.” Following are photographs of the life-affirming signs displayed at the Walk for Life in Marion, North Carolina on September 21, 2019, and the Morganton, North Caroliba Life Chain held on October 5, 2019. Both are annual events promoting birth above abortion.
Marion, North Carolina Walk for Life

In the Marion Walk for Life, believers traversed the Greenway Trail at the Marion YMCA, along a path dotted with the life-affirming signs pictured. The event is a fund-raiser for the McDowell Pregnancy Care Center, a ministry dedicated to providing women with the resources to carry a baby to term. His Place supports the Center financially each year, and members regularly participate in the Walk for Life.
For the Morganton event, poster-bearing Christians formed a chain along the city’s Burkemont Avenue. Paul Boyd, one of the His Place pastors, lent his support (and his breath) to the Morganton sign-bearers, periodically sounding a shofar to draw attention to the group’s effort.
